South African law recognises three categories of water:
- Water defined by origin – This includes water through rain, glacier, mist and spring.
- Natural water – Water sourced from an underground aquifer and bottled at source.
- Prepared water – Water sourced through municipal, surface or ground water that has been purified by treatments.
At Refresha Trading Enterprises – The water sourced from public / private sources is purified by a highly advanced system called Reverse Osmosis, which removes chemicals and impurities from the water.
Our water is further treated using ozone, which kills any bacteria. This way, we ensure that every single bottle of water bottled on site that you drink is the same every time and not influenced by the surroundings.
Reverse Osmosis effectively eliminates a large majority of dissolved contaminants from water by pushing the water under pressure through a semi-permeable membrane. This is a highly advanced purification process used to filter out unwanted molecules and large particles such as contaminants and sediments like chlorine, salt and dirt from drinking water.

Imagine if you have to put sweetened water through the reverse osmosis system, you will have two outputs.
- Your PURE water will have no taste (permeate)
- The DISCHARGE water will be sweeter (concentrate)
From here, we further take this water (Permeate) through an additional step of purification using Ozone Treatment process, killing the bacteria, and resulting in deliciously healthy and refreshing water to drink.
